Loop/Prompt Library / Running AI agents well

๐Ÿ” Five-minute maintenance check-in

Every five minutes, checks several repos, gives each one its next small task, and only lets proven work merge.

Use it when: You want an AI to keep many repos maintained without you micromanaging.

๐Ÿ›‘ Stops when: Every repo item is merged with proof, waiting on a decision, blocked with one clear ask, or has nothing to do.

Copy this loop

Every [5] minutes while maintenance is on, check [list of repos]. Use one ongoing thread per repo and read its latest status. Give each repo its single most valuable small task within the permissions I gave. Do not interrupt work that is going well. Work can merge only after tests, a live check, a review, and green CI. Send product, access, security, or irreversible decisions to me. Stop for the day after [N] check-ins or when every item is done, waiting, or blocked.

Review every change the agent makes before you keep it. Set a budget or round limit โ€” the prompt includes one.

More loops like this

Agent workspace health check

Reads a project's notes and state, without changing anything, and grades whether a new agent could safely pick up the work.

Stop and check before continuing

After an agent finishes a task, it reports what is done and whether the next step is safe, then waits for you.

Clean handoff note

Before a session ends, writes a note so the next person or agent can continue without guessing.

Predict, act, check

Before every meaningful action, the agent writes what it expects to happen, then checks if that is what really happened.

Lessons that stick

Keeps a playbook of lessons from repeated runs, tests one lesson at a time, and only keeps lessons that keep working.

Fair-test experiments

Improves a prompt or piece of code through saved, fairly compared experiments that can pick up again later.
