๐Ÿ’ฌ AI prompt: Five answers before any AI loop starts

You're about to let an AI retry, poll, or keep fixing something on its own.

Copy this prompt

Before you start any loop on [task], answer these and wait for my OK: 1) What shows we're making progress? 2) What's the budget: max rounds [n], time [n], and cost [n]? 3) When exactly do you stop? 4) Which failures are safe to retry, and which mean stop? 5) What proof will show it's really done? Then, during the loop: re-read [plan file] and [state file] at the start of every round, write results to [state file] after every round, keep the maker and the checker separate, and stop for me on failing tests you can't fix, a mismatch with the plan, or any step that deletes, deploys, or spends money.

How to use it

  1. Open Claude (or Claude Code in your project folder).
  2. Paste the prompt and fill in every [bracket].
  3. Read what it changed or wrote before you keep it.

Not medical, legal or financial advice. The AI drafts; you decide and you press send.
