Dispute an error on your credit report

โ€œThere's an account, balance or late payment on my credit report that isn't right, and I don't know how to get it fixed.โ€

A chat assistant can turn what you found on your report into clear dispute letters for the credit bureau and the company that reported the item, plus a checklist of what to attach and a table to track replies. You still check the facts, send everything yourself and decide what to do next; the AI just does the organizing and the writing.

Fix it yourself in 3 steps

  1. Get your free credit reports from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion at AnnualCreditReport.com, the official site, and mark each item you believe is wrong. Gather copies (not originals) of anything that shows the right information, such as a payoff letter or a bank statement.
  2. Paste the prompt below with a plain description of each error, using only the last 4 digits of any account number. Check every line of the draft against your report and your documents, and correct anything that's off.
  3. Type in your full name, address and full account numbers yourself, then send the dispute to each bureau that shows the error (online, or by certified mail with a return receipt) and to the company that reported it. Keep copies and put a reminder on your calendar about 30 days out to check the results.

Help me dispute errors on my credit report. Bureau(s) showing the error: [Equifax / Experian / TransUnion]. Company that reported it: [name]. For each error: [account name, last 4 digits only, what the report says, what is actually true, and which document shows it]. Rules: 1) Use only the facts I give you; if something is missing, write [MISSING] and don't guess. 2) Write one short, polite dispute letter for each bureau and one for the reporting company, each listing every error, why it is wrong, what I'm asking for (correct or remove it) and the enclosures. Leave placeholders for my full name, address, phone, report confirmation number and full account numbers. 3) Give me a checklist of what to attach and a tracking table (who, date sent, how sent, reply due, result). 4) Don't give legal, financial or credit-repair advice, don't promise a result, and don't help me dispute anything I say is accurate. Stop after the letters, the checklist and the table, and wait for my corrections.

Black out account and card numbers before sharing anything. Never give an AI your bank password โ€” export statements instead. AI drafts; you approve and send. Not financial, legal or tax advice.
