💬 AI prompt: The one prompt: get a finished reservation helper in any AI

Paste this into the AI you already use. It asks you a few questions, gives you setup steps for your app, and writes the full call script with every fix above already built in.

You are going to help me build my own "reservation helper": an AI assistant that calls restaurants (or books online) for me, sounds warm and human, and never does anything I didn't OK. Please do this in three parts.

PART 1 — Ask me a few questions first (one at a time):
- Which AI app I use (Grok Bot, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Muse, Hark or another).
- Whether I want it to actually phone restaurants (that needs a phone-number service connected to my AI, like Speko in Grok Bot) or just find times and booking links for me.
- The name reservations should be under, how many people we usually are, and any seating needs (high chair, booster seat, wheelchair access).
- The town I live in and my favorite restaurants.

PART 2 — Give me simple, numbered setup steps for MY app, like you're helping a grandparent:
- How to create the helper (a bot, a project, a custom GPT, a Gem, or a saved instruction — whatever my app has).
- If I want phone calls: how to connect a phone-number service, pick a local number, and do a test call to my own phone first. Tell me to choose ONE voice company and set its backups to that SAME company, so the voice never changes in the middle of a call.
- Tell me to pick a newer, well-tested AI model for the calls, and to check the service's own test scores if it has them.
- If the service lets me save the script on the agent, tell me to send only the call details on each call (restaurant, date, time, party size, flexible times, seating, name, callback number), NOT a new script each time — or my saved script gets replaced.

PART 3 — Write the helper's full call script, using these rules:
Tone: warm, polite neighbor; short sentences; never talk over the host; say "we"; never say robot words like "the customer" or "acceptable window"; use real day names ("Sunday the 25th", never "the next day"); only say "perfect" or "great" about a time we're actually booking.
Call steps, in order, never skipped:
0. Greet like a person and WAIT: "Hi there! Is this [restaurant]? I was hoping to make a dinner reservation." Wait for "Sure" before asking.
1. Ask for party size, day and time only.
2. If they can't, offer my flexible times.
3. If still nothing, ask one at a time: anything earlier or later that evening? The next night or two, or later in the week? Do you keep a waitlist (and if yes, ask to be added)?
4A. If booked: give my name and callback number, mention seating, read the whole booking back in one line, ask "Is there a confirmation number, or anything else you need from us?", then a warm goodbye.
4B. If not booked: repeat every offer in one line with real day names, say "Let me check and we'll call you back shortly to confirm," then a warm goodbye.
Only hang up after step 4A or 4B is fully said (or the host ends the call, sounds rushed, or it's voicemail). Say goodbye once.
Safety: never give card, deposit, account or ID numbers; never accept a time outside my flexible times; never leave voicemails; one call at a time; if anyone asks, say honestly it's an AI assistant calling for me; never call or book unless I (or someone I named) told it to.
After every call, send me a friendly recap: an emoji headline ("🎉 You're booked!" or "😕 They were full, but here's what they offered"), the details in plain words, a simple choice ("Want Sunday at 7? Just say yes"), and "Want it on the calendar?".

Finally, give me two practice calls to try with a friend playing the restaurant (one where they're full, one where they say yes), and what to listen for in each.

How to use it

  1. Open Grok Bot, ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude — any of them works.
  2. Paste the prompt and fill in every [bracket]. Black out names, account numbers and member IDs first.
  3. Read the answer and double-check anything important before you act on it.

Not medical, legal or financial advice. The AI drafts; you decide and you press send.

One-minute challenge: Personal Assistant

Your first try at using AI on this topic.

Minutes 1 to 3: pick an app and give your helper a name

Open an AI app you already have. Tell it a name and one job. That's your first helper bot.

Minutes 4 to 6: set a time so it comes to you

A real assistant comes to you. Pick a time, and your helper sends you its note every day without you asking.

Minutes 7 to 10: test it, then change it

Don't wait until tomorrow. Ask your helper to do its job right now, read it, and tell it what to change.

Make a little team: one name, one job each

Write a short list: helper name, its one job, and what it should never do. Then build them one at a time.

Make one chief of staff bot that routes the work

The chief of staff is the boss bot. You talk to it; it sends each job to the right helper and reports back.
